Darby & Darby, P.C.
From Law Outlines Wiki & Law Firms Wiki - Law-Wiki.com
Darby & Darby, P.C. does one thing and does it very well. Intellectual Property. Since 1895.
Darby & Darby, P.C. is a full-service intellectual property law firm. While many law firms have only recently begun to assemble an intellectual property department, Darby & Darby, P.C. has focused exclusively on intellectual property law for over one hundred years. As one of the oldest intellectual property firms in the world, we have long been an important player in pioneering and precedent-setting IP matters. We know the business and science of IP law inside and out.
Our attorneys hold advanced technical degrees and have distinguished academic credentials. Our scientific expertise extends into all areas of chemistry, biotechnology, engineering, electronics and computer science. But beyond extensive technical knowledge, our firm's great resources are the skill, vision and creativity of our lawyers who are committed to providing superior quality service.
We provide more than just assistance in the technical areas of law, however; we are intellectual property strategists, counseling our clients on how to maximize the value of their patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. We structure business relationships and craft licenses and other agreements to cement them. We litigate when necessary and aren't afraid to try cases.
Intellectual property is not only a creative asset; it is often a crucial business asset. Our founders recognized this by developing a firm whose attorneys knew not only the law and technology but also understood business. Today, through continued commitment to this principle, we are internationally recognized as a firm that applies extensive legal and technological expertise to the economic and financial benefit of its clients.
Darby & Darby, P.C. adeptly meets a client's needs in all aspects of litigation and prosecution, offering advice and counsel in a broad range of industries, both long-established and newly defined.

[edit] Summer Law Student Program
Here at Darby & Darby we strive to provide our summer associates with a truly exceptional experience. It is our goal for our summer associates to experience what life at Darby will be like upon graduation from law school. We believe in having our summer associates maintain an appropriate balance of work, social events within the firm and a life outside of Darby.
We give our summer associates work assignments which are representative of the work our full-time junior associates are handling. We provide the summer associates with feedback, formal reviews and an opportunity for them to select the type of work they are interested in. In addition, each summer associate is paired with a mentor, an associate in the firm, who will help acquaint them with the culture and practice of law at Darby.
Our summer associates are invited and encouraged to attend depositions, settlement conferences and court appearances along with Darby attorneys.
In addition to acquainting our summer associates with the work experience and practice of law at Darby, we provide an opportunity for our summer associates to get to know all of the attorneys at Darby through various social events. Some of the highlights of our social calendar include: Wine Tasting, Yankee Games, a Broadway Show, Dinner at Sammy's Roumanian, Dinner in Little Italy, Cooking school and several informal cocktail receptions throughout the summer.
We believe that spending a summer with Darby will be an exceptional experience and will provide great insight into life as an associate with Darby.
