Our senior partner, Peter Israel, has been repeatedly recognized by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and named in the Lexpert/American Media Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, as one of Canada’s most frequently recommended employment lawyers.

As counsel to management and with more than 26 years of experience in employment and labour law, Peter represents both public and private sector employers in healthcare, manufacturing, retail, broadcast, high technology, financial services, insurance and transportation matters. He regularly advises US executives and in-house counsel responsible for overseeing Canadian operations and employees, and provides advice on preventative policies and procedures, recruitment, employment agreements, collective agreements, matters relating to health and safety and human rights in the context of employment, terminations and layoffs, plant closures, successor employer obligations and all manner of labour issues in both the federal and provincial arenas.

Chris Foulon represents both employers and employees in a wide range of employment law matters including Wrongful Dismissals, Employment Standards Hearings and Human Rights Complaints. Chris also advises employers with respect to union organization drives and responding to applications for certification, union grievances and negotiating collective agreements. Chris employs a proactive approach in dealing with employment and labour issues. He assists employers in instituting policies, practices and procedures which increase productivity and reduce workplace conflict.

Chris is a former instructor of the course "The Legal Environment for Human Resource Managers" at Seneca College. Chris is also a former regular guest instructor of the "Lawyer as Negotiator" course at Osgoode Hall Law School. He is the former Editor of the Carswell publication, "Canadian Employment Law Today".


PhotoCarita Pereira

Carita Pereira has practiced in employment and labour law almost exclusively since her call to the bar in 2002. Carita has represented both employers and employees before the courts, federal and provincial labour boards and other employment-related administrative tribunals. She has acted in relation to matters involving wrongful dismissals, mass terminations and lay-offs, human rights complaints, employment standards claims and workplace health and safety. Carita has assisted employers in responding to union organization campaigns, applications for certifications, and union grievances. Carita also has experience in collective bargaining negotiations as well as in conducting workplace investigations. Carita advises employers on how to deal with labour and employment law issues proactively and strategically in a way which best suits their businesses and their needs.
