[edit] Student Hiring Information
Kenyon & Kenyon LLP’s primary source of legal talent comes from our Summer Program. We run a Summer Program in each of our three offices, New York, Washington, DC and Silicon Valley. We generally hire 16-25 summer associates to fill our needs for the next year. The program tries to provide each summer associate with an experience that fairly represents life as a first year attorney. Each summer associate is placed on the team of an ongoing litigation and undertakes a variety of projects for that team. This enables them to become familiar with a case and to experience what it is like to be part of a litigation team. We also introduce them to other facets of the firm’s practice such as patent prosecution, opinion work, trademark and copyright practice, licensing, pro bono work, etc.
Kenyon & Kenyon attorneys present a series of seminars during the summer to familiarize the summer associates with intellectual property issues and the Practice Groups host lunches to give them an introduction to the breadth of the practice in each area and to talk about cases presently in progress or recently completed.
We make sure all the summer associates have the opportunity to attend depositions, client meetings, oral arguments and trials. Each summer associate has an assigned Mentor and Buddy to help them navigate the summer, provide guidance and answer any questions that may arise, regarding the practice or life at Kenyon & Kenyon.
The program also includes a variety of social functions intended to introduce the summer associates to our lawyers and staff as well as acquaint them with the various charms and endless possibilities of each of our locations. For example, we host cocktail parties, cruises, wine tasting dinners, a theater evening, sporting events, a series of ethnic dinners and our cooking school adventure, complete with apron and toque.
